Blaze's Kevin Hedges leaves West End Records, Cheren retires
We do not know yet why Mel Cheren retired and what will happen next at West End Records. Here are excerpts from Kevin Hedges' farewell ..."It is with sadness that we announce the retirement of a music industry legend, Mr. Mel Cheren, b.k.a. Uncle Mel."

The retirement of Mel from West End and of Kevin starting his own company is more about poltics than anything else.
Mel will still have all his West End record stock available digitally.
Let's just say that a lot was accomplished over the years with Mel and Kevin. They both respect each other. But in the long run,and as the song goes " Good Things Don't Last Forever."
