Definition of an eco-friendly dj

So what is a green dj? One that is "sustainable"? Sustainable and "eco-friendly" are the 2 most overused and over hyped words by the marketing think tanks, the "conscious" equivalent of "cholesterol free" and "light" of the 90s, as nourishing as a muffin wolfed down with diet cola.

The green dj is expected to go to work by foot or bike with a caddy person (human mule) carrying the dj bag, or the laptop, since MP3s aren't made with petroleum contrary to good ol' vinyl. His equipment is powered by solar panels and wears thrift clothes bought from Goodwill or The Salvation army.

The reality is much simpler, it's none of that. He does like the corporations do, buy energy certificates and proudly wear a green badge.
